How to Make Money with Youtube Automation – Step By Step AI Guide

Last Updated: July 12, 2026

What if you could build a sustainable online business that generates passive income without ever showing your face on camera?

If you’re trying to build consistent income streams as a content creator but don’t want to rely solely on your blog, YouTube automation is the perfect business model.

As a faceless affiliate marketer, I’m building my YouTube automation business with the AI Guy YouTube course to increase my affiliate income and create a sustainable content platform that will continue to grow, regardless of how many Google algorithm shifts occur in the next few years.

Learning how to make money with YouTube automation gives you the freedom to earn money on YouTube through multiple monetization strategies, all while automating most of the heavy lifting.

In this guide, how to make money with YouTube automation and the exact steps to start your own faceless YouTube channel, from choosing profitable niches to setting up monetization and creating content using AI tools.

Let’s dive right into it.

Make money with YouTube automation

What is a Faceless YouTube Automation Channel

A faceless YouTube automation channel is exactly what it sounds like, a YouTube business where you create faceless videos and use AI tools to automate the process and save time.

Instead of being on camera, you’re the director behind the scenes. You plan the content, write the scripts, and use AI tools to handle the voice overs and video editing.

This means you can run a successful channel without showing your face, which is perfect if you are an introvert or just don’t want to be on camera.

There are thousands of channels on YouTube already doing this successfully. They’re generating thousands (and sometimes even millions of views) and real income through ads, promoting affiliate products, and selling their own products through the channel.

Because you are using software to create your videos, you don’t need to have fancy equipment. You just need a solid strategy and the right tools to automate the production process.

Let me show you exactly how to build one from scratch.

How To Make Money with YouTube Automation – Step by Step

Step 1 – Find a profitable faceless YouTube channel niche

To be successful and make money with YouTube, you need to choose a niche where people have expensive problems they’re willing to solve. These niches pay you more per thousand views than other niches, which means you can make money online faster with fewer views.

⇒17+ Faceless Channel Ideas That Make Money

If you start a faceless YouTube channel in a niche that gets tons of views but no ‘buying intent’ (like pranks, for example), you will need millions of views just to make a bit of money.

Here are the highest CPM niches: business, make money online, personal finance, budgeting and investing, health, fitness, insurance, productivity, technology and software, legal and travel.

Important: If you want to grow your channel fast and compete in these niches, choose a sub-niche of one of these profitable niches. For example, instead of a personal finance niche, choose ‘how to pay off your mortgage fast’.

This gives you a clear target audience and makes it easier to stand out from the start.

Step 2 – Plan your Monetization Business Model for Passive Income

Before you start your automated YouTube channel, you need to plan exactly how you’re going to make money on YouTube and reverse engineer your end result!

Here’s what happens a lot of the time: people launch an automated channel, put in months of hard work making videos, and only after they get some traction, do they try to find a monetization strategy. By then, they realize the only way to monetize is through YouTube ads, which means they need massive view counts to earn anything meaningful.

Don’t make that mistake.

Your best strategy is to plan from the beginning which product you’ll sell or which affiliate programs you’ll promote, BEFORE you start making any videos.

This changes everything about which niche you choose and how you structure your content! Instead of chasing views, you’re building a real business that can generate income from day one.

When you set up monetization first, even a small audience can make money on YouTube.

5 most profitable ways to make money with a YouTube Automation Channel

Let me walk you through 5 main ways to monetize your channel, starting with the most common business model.

1) YouTube Ads

To get accepted into the YouTube Partner Program, you need 1,000 subscribers and 4,000 hours of watch time. Once you’re in, you will get paid per 1000 views through ad revenue, and the most profitable niches will pay you about $5-$10 per 1,000 views.

However, waiting for YouTube monetization means you’re leaving money on the table for months!

2) Affiliate Marketing

This is the best way to monetize your channel fast, even before you get accepted to the YouTube Partner Program.

Affiliate marketing was my first blogging income, and I was able to make $3500 in my first year of blogging by following Michelle’s affiliate marketing course.

You promote products you believe in and earn a commission on every sale. The great thing about YouTube affiliate marketing is that you can start making money from your very first video!

Here are 3 video formats that work incredibly well for affiliate content:

Product reviews walk viewers through a specific tool or product. For example, if you’re in the productivity niche, you could review project management software like Notion or Asana, showing exactly how it works and why it’s worth buying.

How-to videos teach people to solve a problem using a product you’re promoting. Think “How to start an email list,” where you naturally mention your favorite email marketing software as part of the solution.

Product comparisons help viewers choose between options. Something like “Canva vs Kittl: Which is Better for Beginners?” positions you as a helpful guide while earning commissions from either choice.

3) Brand Sponsorships

Once you start getting consistent views (usually around 10,000+ per video), brands will pay you to mention their products in your videos.

This works especially well in niches like tech, business, or finance, where companies actively look for creators to partner with. You create a sponsored segment within your regular content, and the brand pays you a flat fee, depending on your audience size.

4) Selling a Community Membership

This means creating a paid membership or community platform where your most engaged viewers pay monthly for new content, support and live Q&A webinars.

Platforms like SKOOL, or Kajabi work great for this. You might offer exclusive content, live Q&A sessions, or direct feedback. It’s recurring income that grows as your channel grows.

5) Sell Digital Products

This is where you create your own products, like online courses, templates, eBooks, or guides, and sell them directly to your audience.

For example, if you run a fitness channel, you could sell workout programs or meal plans. If you’re in the business niche, maybe it’s a course on starting a side hustle.

Step 3 – Do Keyword Research for Your Faceless YouTube Channel

Once you’ve chosen your niche and monetization plan, it’s time to find the right topics that will actually get views.

Your next step is to do keyword research on YouTube. You want to find emerging trends and low-competition keywords in your niche that give you the best chance of ranking and getting discovered.

I recommend using VidIQ for this. I’ve been using it for a long time, and it’s so easy to use. Among other things, it shows you the search volume and competition for your keywords and suggests plenty of more relevant keywords in your niche that you can target.

Another favorite feature of VidIQ is the ‘Outliers’ tab. This feature shows you viral video content ideas that are trending right now for a specific keyword (and niche) that you search. It will give you great ideas for your video content plan.

Step 4 – Write YouTube Scripts with AI

Don’t try to sit down and write YouTube scripts by yourself. The whole point of a YouTube automation business is automating the video creation process as much as possible using AI tools.

You can use ChatGPT to create a template for your videos by providing it with examples of high-performing YouTube videos.

However, if you want unique scripting, you can use a YouTube AI tool that includes a YouTube script generator (among other features), such as VID AI .

Vid.AI lets you generate full-length videos (from shorts to long-form videos of up to 20 minutes long!) by prompting. It will generate the script for you and the full video, and from there you get access to their video editor to tweak it here and there.

Step 5 – Video Editing with AI Automation Tools – Content Creation Made Easy

Use AI tools to edit your videos fast:

Video editing used to take forever, but AI tools have completely changed the game. Here are my tool recommendations for creating videos without spending days in the editing room.

ElevenLabs for Voiceovers

ElevenLabs is hands down the best AI voice generator out there. The voices sound incredibly natural, nothing like those robotic AI voices from a few years ago. You can start an ElvenLabs free account with this link.

You can choose from their library of voices, clone your own voice, or even create a custom AI voice. I recommend picking lesser-known voices so your content doesn’t sound like everyone else’s.

Envato Market for Stock Footage

You’ll need video clips to keep things visually interesting. Envato Market has an unlimited subscription at a really low price that includes unlimited stock footage, stock images, music, and more, so you can use these assets not just for your YouTube channel but also for your blog and your social media.

CapCut for Video Editing

CapCut makes video editing simple, even if you’ve never edited before. I use CapCut Pro to access its advanced features and save time.

The interface is very intuitive, even if you are a complete beginner like me, and you can edit directly on your phone if you want to. To create shorts from your videos, use the CapCut  ‘Long video to shorts’ feature that can turn your long-form videos into multiple YouTube Shorts or TikTok videos, perfect for repurposing content fast.

VID AI for One-Click Videos

If you prefer to skip video editing entirely and create videos with a single click, VID AI is the tool I highly recommend for you to check out.

You just paste your script, and it generates complete YouTube videos, both shorts and long-form content. This is the fastest way to create videos if you want full automation.

Step 6 – Hire freelancers to automate your YouTube content creation

Once your YouTube automation channel starts generating income, you can reinvest that money into hiring freelancers to handle the hard work and speed up the process and your video uploads.

Platforms like Fiverr and Upwork are perfect for finding affordable talent. You can hire a script writer to polish your AI-generated scripts or a video editor to edit your videos from start to finish.

The goal is to eventually step back from the day-to-day tasks and focus on strategy and growth.

Start by outsourcing one task at a time, maybe thumbnails first, then editing, then scripting. As your channel grows, you build a small team that runs everything for you.

This is how you turn your channel into a true automated business.
