3. Video Editing Business
I chose to put this one first on my list because it is THE PERFECT business choice for introverts (it’s only you and your laptop from home!). It is also the most profitable business!
As you develop your video editing skills from the beginning to advanced, incorporating animations and creating clickable thumbnails, you will be able to charge very high prices for your videos.
This is a skill that I set my mind to add to my toolset long ago when joined Vince Opra video editing course and community (and I’ve been a paying member for the past 2 years) as he is not only teaching you EVERY single video editing software, he also has a complete course on how to start a profitable business as a video editor.
I’m already selling my video editing services to small business owners who use a YouTube channel for their business.
Everyone needs video content these days, from YouTubers to business owners. The truth is that most business owners don’t have the time (or patience) to edit their videos. Also, YouTubers, when their channel starts growing and making money, they will start looking for a video editor to help them so they can continue to grow. That’s where you come in!
If you have a good eye for storytelling and the idea of editing videos sounds interesting to you, then starting a video editing business could be perfect for you!
Getting Started ($150-400):
What You’ll Do Daily:
- Edit raw footage into polished, engaging videos
- Add music, transitions, and eye-catching graphics
- Create YouTube thumbnails and social media clips
- Sync audio and color-correct footage
- Export videos in different formats for various platforms
Must-Have Tools:
Editing Software:
- CapCut – the free or the pro version (perfect for beginners!)
- Adobe Premiere Pro – industry standard (monthly subscription required)
- Final Cut Pro – great for Mac users
Design Tools:
- Canva – for creating thumbnails and graphics
- Adobe After Effects – for advanced motion graphics (optional)
Skills You Need:

- Small business owners creating marketing videos
- Online course creators
- Social media influencers
Starting Your New Business:
- Pick one editing software and master it through online tutorials
- Create sample videos to build your portfolio
- Join freelancer Facebook groups and offer your first project at a discounted rate
- Start reaching out to your favorite YouTubers and edit one of their videos for free!
Once you master the basics, you can charge $25-$100 per hour depending on your experience. The demand for video content isn’t slowing down, so this business has serious long-term potential!
4. Freelance Writing Business
This is one of the best business ideas for introverts and my favorite. I used to do freelance writing full time when my second daughter was born.
Although I worked long hours, it was still so peaceful to be 100% flexible with my time and work according to my schedule.
Content writing is also a highly profitable business with minimal initial costs and substantial profits.
If you love writing, this business idea will be a si much fun. And you only need a laptop and an internet connection.
What You’ll Need ($0-200):
Basic Tools:
- Computer with word processing software (you can use Microsoft Word, but if you don’t have Microsoft Office, it is all good, you can use Google Docs for free, and it will also be easier for you to share the content with your clients)
- A reliable internet connection – you don’t want to stop every time you are in the flow of writing
- Quiet workspace – at the beginning, I used my bedroom, then put a desk in the corner of the living room and now I have my own space!
Writing Tools:
- Grammar tool: I use Grammarly and you can start with the free version.
However, if this is going to be your full-time business, I highly recommend you go with the Pro version when you can (I have been using the Pro version for the past four years, and it gives me much better suggestions).
- AI SEO tool – I use Neuronwriter to fully optimize all my content for SEO. If your clients are using the content you write to rank on Google then using an AI SEO tool is a must.
When your customers will see faster results with your well-optimized content, they will be happy to come back again and again so the cost of it will be a no brainer for you.
Project Tools:
- Trello is super easy to use and free. It is perfect for tracking all the content you are writing.
- Asana is more advanced, and there is a free plan that you can use.
What You Can Write:
- Blog posts for businesses
- Sales pages
- How-to guides
- Ghostwriting – writing blog posts under someone else’s name
Getting Started:
- Pick what you want to write about (like food, tech, or a travel blog)
- Write a few blog posts to show clients. You can also reach out to a few websites and offer to write one post for free, so you can show clients that your work has been published on other websites.
- Create a profile on Upwork.
- Reach out to small businesses that sell a product or service you’re familiar with (so it will be easy for you to write content for them).
All you need is just a few clients. Start with niches and topics that you know well, it will make the writing process so much easier and faster, and your end result will be high-quality.
5. Selling Digital Products
Selling digital products is one of the most fun businesses out there. It can create a partly passive income business, especially if you start a digital product business with artificial intelligence.
You can build a successful business by creating products once and selling them repeatedly.
Also, if you use a marketplace like Etsy, you can tap into the audience that is already coming to Etsy to buy without having to put so much effort into building an audience.
What You Can Create:
- eBooks (like how-to guides in the business, health, parenting niche, and more).
You can use our Free Etsy Fee Calculator for Digital Products to check how much profit you can make selling a $50 eBook on Etsy! - Planners (budget trackers, meal planners, workout logs)
- Templates (resumes, social media posts)
- 57 PROFITABLE Digital Product Ideas to Sell On Etsy
Tools You’ll Need:
Canva – you can use the free account to create all your digital downloads (the Pro version will save you time and add some more features)
Etsy Keyword Research tool – I use EverBee as it is an all-in-one SEO tool, and it’s also great for product analysis.
Photoshop – only if you are already using Photoshop, then I would recommend using it as well. However, if you are not a graphic designer and have never worked with Photoshop, then Canva is absolutely enough.
⇒How to Create Digital Products to Sell on Etsy – The EASIEST Way
Selling Platform Like:
Etsy – this is the biggest marketplace for digital downloads, and it is my go-to for selling digital products.
Gumroad – another marketplace that can handle the payments for you, with fewer opportunities for sellers than with Etsy.
Begin by researching keywords on Etsy, then examine the bestsellers and their sales figures for specific products.
Don’t try to invent the wheel. Do keyword research so you’ll know what types of digital downloads are selling well on the platform and how to make them even better.
6. Virtual Bookkeeping Business Owner
Love numbers and organizing? This type of business is perfect for introverts who want to use their unique strengths while working from home. Even better – everyone needs a bookkeeper!

7. Social Media Management
Do you spend a lot of time on Instagram or TikTok? Do you like to get inspiration from Pinterest boards? Do you have basic design and copywriting skills? Then, managing social media accounts for small business owners could be perfect for you!
I started my Pinterest journey with Perfecting Pinterest (my favorite Pinterest course) and learned how to master this platform and bring massive organic traffic to my website from Pinterest (instead of relying on Google’s traffic).
Once you master a skill for your own business, it is very easy to start offering your services to other small businesses.

Becoming an expert in one platform is the best. Small businesses like to work with professionals who are experts in a specific platform, so try focusing all your efforts on one platform to accelerate your progress.

9. Virtual Assistant Business
Most business owners just don’t have enough time to do everything in their business. A virtual assistant (VA) can work behind the scenes to simplify their daily activities. This business model is 100% online and can be done at flexible hours (and even in different time zones), which is why it is a brilliant business idea for introverts.
One of the trendiest VA jobs is becoming a Pinterest virtual assistant.
Megan Johnson, the Pinterest Marketer, is doing just that. She has been working with clients for the past few years, and based on her work, she developed the popular Pinterest marketing bundle – Pinterest Ninja + Pinterest Virtual Assistant course.
In these courses, she teaches how to become an expert in Pinterest marketing and how to start a successful business as a Pinterest VA. I personally bought this bundle, and the value you get from these courses is insane (and far more than what you paid for).
What You’ll Do:
- Manage email inboxes and reply to customers
- Set up meetings (learn how to use Calendly -one of the most popular online meeting schedulers)
- Manage social media accounts and respond to messages on these platforms.
Tools You’ll Need to Get Started:
- An app to manage all your projects (like Trello)
- Canva – for creating social media posts
Getting Started
- Take an online course – The fastest way to get started is to take a virtual assistant course.
- Create your profile on Upwork
- Apply to relevant projects on Upwork
A virtual assistant can mean different things to different businesses. To increase your conversions on Upwork and produce high-quality work, it is essential to list the tasks you offer on your Upwork profile (and specialize only in these tasks).
10. Sell Online – Start Your Own Print-on-Demand Online Store
Today, there is no need to invest money upfront in inventory to start a profitable e-commerce business. You can start a print-on-demand shop with very little investment and start getting sales in no time (especially if you are using a marketplace like Etsy).
What Can You Sell?
Here are some of the most popular POD products selling on Etsy:
- T-shirts and sweatshirts
- Mugs and cups
- Engraved jewelry
- Wall art and posters
E-commerce platforms to consider:
- Etsy: best marketplace for beginners and can be linked to the most popular POD companies
- Shopify: This is your very own website store, best for high-profit margins
- Redbubble: A marketplace dedicated to POD sellers
How to start selling:
Step 1 – Pick a specific target audience to create products for (like dog lovers or teachers)
Step 2 – Share your products on social media (like Instagram and TikTok)
Step 3 – Optimize your listings for SEO so people can find your products on Google
The best part about starting your own POD store is that you don’t need to buy any products upfront. The POD company that handles the manufacturing and shipping will charge you only when someone orders one of your products!
This means you can focus on making designs and marketing your products, letting the print-on-demand company handle the rest.

11. Online Course Business
Selling an online course means becoming an online tutor. Starting your online course business means you’ll make almost 100% of the profit, as it is a digital product!
Think about a topic that you know well and that you can teach others around the world.
What Can You Teach? Here are some examples
- Drawing
- Coding
- How to use Excel
- Video editing
- How to use Notion
Tools You’ll Need:
The cool thing about creating online courses is that you make them once and can sell them repeatedly. You might need to update the course once a year, but it won’t require a huge time investment.
You can record videos without showing your face. If you do screen recording, the content itself is the only thing that matters. I bought many courses where the tutor didn’t show their face, including affiliate marketing courses, video editing courses, and an Excel course.
12. Stock Photography Business
Do you know how to take professional pictures? You can turn your photos into a business from home.
You can make money selling your photos online and work whenever you want.
The first step is to research the types of pictures people already buy.
Here are some popular topics:
- Real-life moments (like people working or exercising)
- Office and work scenes
- Beautiful nature shots
- Food and cooking pictures
What You’ll Need to Start:
- A good digital camera (some phones work too!)
- Photo editing software to make your pictures look even better (like Adobe Lightroom or Adobe Photoshop)
- Basic lighting to make your photos shine
Where to Sell Your Photos:
- Shutterstock: Great for beginners
- Adobe Stock: focused on business customers
- Getty Images: Known for high-quality photos
Start by picking a specific niche to focus on – like food or nature. Take lots of pictures and pick the best ones to sell.
Remember that businesses always look for good photos for their websites and ads, so once you realize what type of photos are selling best, you can double down on that and increase your profits.
Tip: Before taking photos, look at what’s already selling well. This will help you take pictures that people want to buy and increase your ROI.
13. Proofreading/Editing Services
Proofreading and editing are some of the top business ideas for introverts.
If editing and fixing mistakes come naturally to you, then this type of business is something you should consider.
What kind of jobs can you do?
- Editing new authors’ books

- Understanding different writing styles
How to Start:

Editing is a very stress-free business. You can work at your own pace, 100% from home, and you don’t need to meet any clients.
Start with one type of writing you want to edit (like children’s books or blog posts) and continue from there.
